BAGHDAD August 30. 2024 (Saba) - The Iraqi security authorities on Friday declared the killing of 14 members of the terrorist organization ISIS, including leaders in the organization, in an operation carried out by the Iraqi Intelligence Service in the Al-Hazimi area in the Anbar desert, western Iraq.
The Security Media Cell in Iraq said in a statement that ISIS members and leaders were surprised by successive airstrikes, followed by an airdrop of mobile forces, in cooperation and intelligence and technical coordination with the international coalition in Iraq.
The cell explained that intelligence information confirms that among the dead were important leaders from the first rank in ISIS, noting that the operation destroyed weapons, ammunition, logistical support and a number of explosive belts, in addition to finding some documents and communication devices.
The Iraqi forces, in all their formations, continue to pursue ISIS remnants in various regions of the country, despite the passage of more than six years since the Iraqi government announced the elimination of the organization.
