SANA'A August 20. 2024 (Saba) - In a formal handover ceremony in Sana'a on Tuesday, Eng. Mohammed al-Mahdi took over as the new Minister of Communications and Information Technology from Eng. Musfer al-Numair.

The transition marks a significant moment for the communications sector, which has seen substantial progress despite challenging conditions.

During the event, Minister al-Mahdi commended Eng. al-Numair for his leadership during a period marked by aggression and siege that impacted the communications and postal sector.

Eng. al-Mahdi highlighted the preservation and advancement of the sector’s achievements under Eng.

Al-Numair noted the solid foundations laid and the successful implementation of strategic projects.

He expressed pride in the sector’s progress, achieved through strategic planning and rapid adaptation.

Eng. Al-Numair thanked the communications sector’s leadership and staff, emphasizing that the sector’s accomplishments were a collective effort.

He underscored his tenure as a significant responsibility and expressed hopes for continued sector development under his successor.

Eng. Sadiq Musleh, Executive Director of the General Telecommunications Corporation, praised the previous leadership’s vision and highlighted the collaborative efforts that led to the establishment of 1,200 new stations.

The ceremony concluded with Minister al-Mahdi and Ministry leaders presenting shields to Eng. al-Numair in recognition of his contributions.
