SANA'A August 14. 2024 (Saba) – Judge Ahmed Yahya Al-Mutawakel, Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, met on Wednesday with Judge Mujahid Abdullah, the newly appointed Minister of Justice and Human Rights.

The meeting, held in the presence of Judge Dr. Essam al-Samawi, President of the Supreme Court, extended its congratulations to the Government of Change and Construction on earning the trust of the revolutionary and political leadership.

It expressed their hopes for the government’s success in fulfilling its responsibilities and meeting the aspirations of the Yemeni people.

The Supreme Judicial Council also welcomed Minister Abdullah, praising his appointment as a significant addition to the efforts of the Judicial Council.

It expressed confidence that his tenure would enhance judicial work and promote justice.

Judge al-Mutawakel emphasized the importance of the upcoming phase, which demands collective efforts to improve judicial performance and deliver prompt justice to citizens.

He highlighted that the formation of the new government marked a positive step towards reforming state institutions, including the judiciary, and underscored the goal of successful reforms to elevate the judiciary's status.

Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council acknowledged the contributions of former Minister of Justice Judge Nabil al-Azani for his role in judicial and legislative reforms, including advancements in automation, capacity building, and the Higher Judicial Institute.

Judge al-Samawi welcomed the new minister, expressing hope that his leadership would support and advance the judiciary, especially during this crucial period.

He stressed the need for concerted efforts to achieve a fair and impartial judiciary and enhance judicial reforms.

Minister Abdullah, in his remarks, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and affirmed his commitment to working collaboratively with judicial leaders to elevate judicial work and reinforce the pursuit of justice.
