SANA'A August 14. 2024 (Saba) – Minister of Information in the Government of Change and Construction Hashem Sharaf al-Din conducted on Wednesday a review of the work progress in the Sana'a Radio Sector - General Program.

Minister Sharaf al-Din received a detailed briefing on the administrative, financial, and technical operations at Sana'a Radio, as well as its various activities and radio programs.

Minister Sharaf al-Din praised Sana'a Radio as the "beating heart" of Yemeni media, describing it as a prestigious institution that has been instrumental in elevating media performance and societal awareness across Yemen.

Sharaf al-Din extended his gratitude to the previous Ministry of Information leadership for its efforts in improving the state of Yemeni government media.

He highlighted that the Ministry's responsibility extends beyond government media to encompass private and independent outlets, emphasizing the need for a holistic approach to media work.

Sharaf al-Din expressed the Government of Change and Construction's commitment to reforming the media landscape, which had previously been viewed with limited scope and understanding.

Minister Sharaf Al-Din underscored the essential role of media in serving society, particularly during times of conflict, and noted the significance of keeping the Ministry of Information independent. He outlined plans to improve the media work environment, enhance coordination across media sectors, and establish stronger partnerships with private media outlets.

He also emphasized the importance of updating media regulations and systems to align with the current era of change and development. Special attention will be given to training and qualifying media professionals to ensure they are equipped to handle emerging challenges and opportunities.

The Minister expressed a high level of ambition for the Yemeni media sector, aiming to involve citizens actively in production and government policy. He stressed the need to activate social and interactive media to amplify the media message and enhance its effectiveness.

Looking ahead, Minister Sharaf al-Din expressed optimism about the future of Yemeni media, driven by dedicated professionals committed to enhancing the national media message.

He concluded by stating that the coming period will witness significant development and modernization in the sector, with Sana'a Radio poised to regain its vitality and influence.
