MAHWEET August 05. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting was held in Mahweet province, attended by Judge Ahmed Sharaf Al-Din, head of the Court of Appeal, Judge Abdul-Ghani Al-Barkani, head of the Public Prosecution, and other officials. The meeting focused on improving work mechanisms and coordination between courts and primary prosecutions for handling criminal cases.

Participants, including a member of the Appeal Prosecution, the head, and judges of Mahweet Primary Court, discussed challenges faced by both prosecution and courts. These included a shortage of judicial and administrative staff, difficulties in attending court sessions, and a lack of equipment for printing rulings.

To address these issues, the meeting decided that criminal case sessions for Mahweet Prosecution Office would be handled by a single criminal judge. A specific day would be designated for each district prosecution office to review criminal cases, with Mahweet and al-Rujm prosecution offices cases assigned to Judge Mohammed Al-Sufyani.

Additionally, the meeting agreed to submit two memoranda to the Supreme Judicial Council. The first would address the issue of non-serious cases involving prisoners, which are currently handled at the district level. The second would request additional judicial and administrative staff for primary prosecution offices.
