BAGHDAD August 04. 2024 (Saba) - Former MP for the Iraqi Fatah Alliance Fadhel Al-Fatlawi considered on Sunday, that the international coalition's targeting of the Popular Mobilization Forces headquarters north of Babylon is a clear violation of Iraq's sovereignty.
Al-Fatlawi said in a statement to the Iraqi "Al-Maalouma" Agency: "The American presence in Iraq has become a burden that has limited any security progress by the Iraqi armed forces, including the Popular Mobilization Forces."
He added: "Targeting one of the Popular Mobilization Forces headquarters by the coalition forces confirms that these forces are an occupation and all international laws and norms apply to them."
He pointed out that "the American presence has become rejected by the Iraqi people."
Targeting the Popular Mobilization Forces in Jurf al-Nasr sparked widespread popular and political condemnation.. calling on the Sudanese government to expedite his government's negotiations to set a timetable for the coalition forces withdrawal from Iraqi territory within a period not exceeding one year.
