RAMALLAH August 04. 2024 (Saba) - Human rights organizations announced in a report today, Sunday, that the number of Palestinian prisoners in the prisons of the Zionist enemy has reached ten thousand detainees, and that the ongoing arrest campaigns are accompanied by acts of abuse and severe beatings.

The report stated, according to what was reported by the Palestinian Media Center today, that the total number of prisoners in the enemy prisons until the beginning of this August is about 9,900 prisoners, including 3,432 administrative detainees, no less than 250 children, and 86 women, 23 of whom are administrative detainees.

The report issued by the Commission of Prisoners' Affairs and Freed Prisoners, the Addameer Prisoner Support, Human Rights Association, and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club indicated that the number of prisoners in Gaza classified by the prison administration as "illegal combatants" who were recognized by the occupation prison administration is 1,584 prisoners.

The report monitored the arrest of 93 journalists by the enemy forces since October 7, 55 of whom remain in detention, including six female journalists, and at least 16 journalists from Gaza whose identities have been verified, and 17 are in administrative detention.

According to the human rights report, administrative detention orders since the beginning of the war of extermination have reached about 7,500 orders; between new orders and renewal orders, including orders against children and women.

Administrative detention is imprisonment by Zionist military order, without an indictment, and extends for six months, subject to extension.

Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist enemy has been waging a war of extermination on Gaza Strip, resulting in more than 40,000 martyrs, more than 91,000 wounded, most of them children , women, and the displacement of about 1.9 million people, more than ten thousand missing, amid massive destruction of health , educational infrastructure and famine that claimed dozens lives of children, according to data from the United Nations.

In conjunction with its devastating war on Gaza, the enemy army expanded its operations in the occupied West Bank, leaving 604 dead and about five thousand and 400 wounded, according to official Palestinian data.
