MOGADISHU August 4. 2024 (Saba): Somali police announced that the death toll from a beach attack in the capital Mogadishu on Saturday had risen to 32, in a suicide operation followed by gunfire.
The police said in a statement that "a suicide bomber detonated his explosive device on Friday at Lido Beach, which is frequented by businessmen and officials and has previously witnessed attacks, and then gunmen attacked the site."
A police officer said that the terrorists "randomly and brutally opened fire on civilians," noting that there were a number of wounded, without revealing further details about the injuries.
