MUSCAT July 31. 2024 (Saba) -The Sultanate of Oman condemned the assassination of the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, considering that the assassination undermines efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region, and is a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law.
In a statement on Wednesday, the Omani Foreign Ministry stressed the Sultanate's firm position in rejecting all forms of terrorism, whatever its motives and causes, as well as rejecting violations of the sovereignty and sanctities of states.
The Omani Foreign Ministry called on the international community to intervene urgently to punish the perpetrators of these crimes and political assassinations and to take immediate action to stop the Israeli aggression and the illegal occupation of Palestinian territories and the policy of killing, extremism and abuse practiced against the defenceless Palestinian people.
