TEHRAN July 31. 2024 (Saba) - Iran's UN Mission announced on Wednesday that the response to the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of Hamas, will involve special operations.

The Tasnim International News Agency reported that the mission stated on "X" platform that the retaliation would be severe and regrettable.

Following the martyrdom of Dr. Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Iran declared three days of mourning. The Revolutionary Guards' Public Relations Department confirmed Haniyeh's death, attributing it to a terrorist act by the Zionist entity.

The statement condemned the assassination and expressed condolences to the Palestinian people and the Islamic nation.

Haniyeh was among 110 foreign delegations attending the inauguration of Iran's 14th President.

The statement criticized the Zionist entity for violating international norms and attempting to cover up its defeats in Gaza, resulting in significant Palestinian casualties.
