LONDON July 29. 2024 (Saba) - Eight people were injured in a stabbing incident in Southport, northwest Britain, on Monday.
According to the Russia Today website, local police said in a statement, "Emergency services arrived in Southport following a major incident this morning."
"A man was arrested and a knife was seized. There are casualties. There is no wider threat to the public," it added in a statement via the X platform.
The North West Ambulance Service said it was responding to a major incident on Hart Street in Southport on Monday morning after reports of a multiple stabbing.
It added: "We have sent 13 ambulances along with specialist resources from the Hazardous Area Response Team, the Air Ambulance and outstanding medics to the scene."
It continued: "So far, the ambulance service has treated eight patients with stab wounds."
