NEW YORK July 29. 2024 (Saba) -Nine percent of Gaza people has been displaced within last week only, the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Monday, blaming the evacuation orders issued by Israel.
29,000 people existed in an area the Israeli army ordered to evacuate on Sunday, OCHA added, as "repeated displacement deprives the civilians from honorable life."
UN humanitarian partners estimate that over 190,000 Palestinians were displaced this week from Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah following evacuation orders, the Office said, with hundreds of others still stuck in eastern part of Khan Younis where fighting persists.
The recent evacuation orders and intense hostilities affected relief works and undermined efforts to secure assistance needed for the civilians in Khan Younis, OCHA said.
