SANA'A July 29. 2024 (Saba) - The Yemeni Honey Unit in the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation have completed the arrangements for holding the National Festival of Yemeni Honey and Bee Products "Season Three" next week in the capital, Sana'a, with community contributions.
The Director of the Yemeni Honey Services Office, Saddam Al-Ashmouri, explained that the festival's preparatory committee has completed the arrangements related to launching the festival's activities in Al-Sab'een Park, under the slogan "Yemen is the Home of Honey", with the aim of promoting Yemeni honey and reviving its position in international forums and improving the marketing of Yemeni brands of this cash crop globally.
He explained the importance of the festival and its role in enhancing the efforts made to improve the marketing of honey locally , internationally , highlight a number of its brands and bee products in a way that preserves its position and global fame, as the spotlight will be on Yemeni honey and other bee products, through an event befitting it as a national product known for its quality in local and foreign markets.
In addition, an honoring event was held for a number of media and cultural institutions, social media pioneers, a group of intellectuals, actors, and those interested in Yemeni honey.
The event, which was attended by the Deputy Director of the Honey Unit in the Agricultural Committee, Youssef Al-Qadimi, the Deputy Director of Marketing and Agricultural Trade at the Ministry of Agriculture, Ali Al-Hareb, and a member of the Yemeni Honey Unit in the Committee, Dhiyab Al-Ashmouri, was enriched with interventions on the quality and importance of Yemeni honey, as it enjoys wide demand for its high quality, reputation, and fame since ancient times.
The participants pointed out that there are different and varied types of Yemeni honey, including Sidr, Samr, Dhibi, Sal, and Mara'i, and it is characterized by its climatic diversity in terms of mountain honey, valleys, and deserts.
They called for coordinating efforts and focusing on promoting this national product through various platforms, social media, and others.
