The network's publication, quoting dozens of party officials, said, "No one knows exactly what the process of selecting the new nominee will be if Joe Biden withdraws, but many Democrats say it is more likely than ever that Vice President Kamala Harris will be the nominee." .
According to the network, “by this, officials do not mean the possibility of a sudden decision by party members to unite against the head of the White House to support Harris. Rather, it is a trend resulting from increasing fatigue with their uncertainty about the possibilities of his victory in the electoral race, which makes the trend shift towards consensus on the vice president as a candidate.”
The network explained that officials in the Republican Party said that “if the situation suddenly changes, dreams are taking hold that Harris will emerge more active and forceful against Donald Trump,” stressing that none of the “serious” competitors will be able to compete with her.
The Wall Street Journal had indicated that Harris is considered the most likely candidate to succeed Biden if he withdraws from the electoral race.
According to the results of opinion polls conducted by The Economist and YouGov magazine, which were released on July 11, about 73% of Democratic Party supporters believe that Harris should be the Democratic nominee in the presidential elections next November.
