AMRAN July 20. 2024 (Saba) - In coordination with the branch of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs, the Yemeni Red Crescent branch in Amran province launched a project to distribute shelter aid to those affected by torrential rains.

The project aims to distribute shelter materials to 232 families affected by the rainfall in displacement camps in Amran.

At the inauguration, the Director of the Amran District, Muhammad Al-Imad, pointed out the importance of this aid, which aims to help this poorest segment to alleviate their suffering as a result of the heavy rains that caused their camps to be flooded.

In turn, the director of the Red Crescent Society branch, Ali Al-Azab, indicated that the aid, which includes the distribution of shelter materials such as mattresses, kitchen tools, tarps, and hygiene bags, targets families affected by the rains in the camps for the displaced in Amran.

He pointed out that the distribution comes within the framework of the emergency humanitarian response to those affected by climate change, which is implemented by the Red Crescent Society, considering the inauguration as a first stage, which will be followed by stages targeting affected families in the province’s districts.

For their part, the affected families benefiting from the project appreciated the efforts of the Red Crescent in the province and the assistance it provides to them in light of the harsh and difficult conditions they are suffering from.
