HODEIDA July 18. 2024 (Saba) - Governor of Hodeida Mohammed Ayash Qahim and the Chairman of the General Authority for Zakat, Shamsan Abu Nashtan on Thursday inspected the progress of work in educational facilities and the establishment of health projects in the center of the governorate.

They were accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Zakat Authority, Ahmed Majli, the scholar Yahya Al-Dailami, and the Director of Zakat in Hodeidah, Mohammed Hazza, on the educational process at Dar Al-Ulum Al-Shariah University.

They listened from the President of the University, Sheikh Mohammed Marai, to an explanation about the level of the university's need and the difficulties it faces in meeting the requirements of education in the colleges it includes, which are Islamic studies, Arabic language, Sharia, law, the Holy Quran and its sciences.

They also listened to an explanation of the academic status of education at Dar Al-Ulum Al-Shari'ah University, the nature of the challenges and needs, and ways to support and support the university to continue to enhance its mission and cooperate with it in light of the increasing burdens it faces and the lack of sufficient capabilities.

Governor Qahim stressed the keenness of the Leader of the Revolution, the President of the Supreme Political Council, and the local authority in the governorate to overcome and address the challenges facing the university in order to continue the educational and academic process in it, especially since it provides an important educational message that serves the country.

The Rector of the University appreciated this visit, which embodies the real responsibility to review the performance of education in the university's colleges, whose number of students exceeds two thousand male and female students from various provinces, including students from Malaysia and Indonesia.

They were accompanied on the visit by the evaluation committee assigned by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to evaluate the academic status of the university in preparation for opening the Master's and Doctorate programs.

The Governor of Hodeida, the Chairman of the General Authority for Zakat, and their companions also reviewed the project to establish the Great Messenger Center for the Treatment and Surgery of Tumors in the Medical City in Hodeidah.

They listened to the project managers explaining the launch of the foundations of the $15 million project, funded and supervised by the Cancer Control Fund.

The governor of Hodeida explained that the project to build a center for the treatment and surgery of tumors is one of the top priorities of the local authority in the governorate to alleviate the suffering of cancer patients in particular, most of whom are from the poor and vulnerable groups.

In addition, Qahim and Shamsan Abu Nashtan were briefed on the conditions and needs of the Martyr Al-Samad Center for Kidney Dialysis in the city of Hodeidah, which provides its services to more than 600 patients from Hodeidah and neighboring governorates.

They listened to an explanation of the difficulties the center faces in providing diesel to secure more than 156 dialysis sessions per day through 39 devices, and the extent of its need for additional devices and financial support.

The governor of Hodeida noted the existing need for the center to raise its operational efficiency and reach a distinguished stage in accommodating patients and relieving pressure on kidney failure treatment centers in the province's district s.

Qahim praised the management and staff of the Martyr al-Samad Center and the humanitarian efforts they provide to save the lives of kidney failure patients despite the challenges, stressing that the local authority is focusing its attention on continuous research to address the difficulties facing the kidney dialysis centers in the province.
