AMRAN July 10. 2024 (Saba) - The local committee of Amran Water Basin, headed by the governor, Dr. Faisal Jaman, discussed a number of applications for drilling licenses , deepening a number of water wells in the basin and other areas.
The meeting, which included the First Province Undersecretary , Abdulaziz Abu Kharfsha, the Undersecretary of the Province, Hassan Al-Ashqas, and members of the committee, reviewed the report of the Director of the Water Resources Office Branch, Engineer Fahd Al-Sufyani, on the water situation in the basin , the mechanism for reducing random drilling inside and outside the basin.
In the meeting, Governor Jaman stressed the importance of protecting the basin’s water sources , discussing the requests submitted with care , attention in order to preserve the water of the Amran Basin , taking the necessary measures to preserve groundwater and reduce the embarrassing depletion resulting from random drilling.
Jaman pointed out the importance of giving priority in requests for drilling new wells in the Amran Basin to those requests related to drinking water or agriculture, and taking measures against those who drill randomly , in violation of the applicable regulations and referring them to the competent authorities.
