HODEIDA July 07. 2024 (Saba) - Public Prosecutor Judge Dr. Mohammed al-Dailami on Sunday reviewed the conditions of prisoners in al-Zahra and al-Zaidiyah districts of Hodeida province.
During the visit, the Public Prosecutor listened to an explanation from the Deputy Prosecutor of al-Zaidiyah and the two districts' security directors about the prisoners’ cases and the procedures taken regarding them.
Judge al-Dailami called on the prosecution and the law enforcement officers to adhere to the general instructions related to the application of the Code of Criminal Procedure in investigating crimes, arresting their perpetrators, and gathering the evidence necessary to investigate the case.
He stressed the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation between security and prosecution in receiving reports about serious crimes, moving to their locations and initiating investigations into them, ensuring the completion of evidence-gathering reports, and quickly referring cases, especially those with prisoners in their custody, to the courts and following them up for a decision, as they are urgent.
The Public Prosecutor also listened to the complaints and requests of the prisoners, and the periods they spent in detention, and matched what was stated in their statements with the papers, and directed the release of a number of them.
