GAZA June 21. 2024 (Saba) - Today, Friday, the Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" welcomed Armenia's announcement of officially recognizing the State of Palestine, and considered it an additional and important step on the path to establishing international recognition of the rights of the Palestinian people.

According to the Palestinian Information Center, the movement renewed in a statement its call to countries around the world to take similar steps to support the struggle of the Palestinian people against the Zionist enemy.

The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement that Armenia officially recognized the Palestinian state, bringing the number of countries recognizing Palestine to 148 out of 193 countries in the United Nations General Assembly.

Last month, Spain, Norway, Ireland and Slovenia announced recognition of the State of Palestine.

It is noteworthy that Britain, Australia and Malta have indicated during the past few months that they may in turn recognize the Palestinian state.
