BEIJING June 20. 2024 (Saba) - The Chinese "Binbei" website reported that the city of Guilin in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the south of the country was exposed to the worst floods since 1998.

According to the site, the water level in the Guilin rivers rose on June 19 due to continuous heavy rains to 148.55 meters, exceeding the level of 148.4 meters recorded during the disastrous flood in 1998.

Schools and tourist sites in the city were closed and 69 people were evacuated from flooded areas.
