MOSCOW June 14. 2024 (Saba) - Russia on Thursday warned France against becoming increasingly involved in the conflict in Ukraine, making a direct clash with Moscow possible.
"France is becoming more and more immersed in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, and is deliberately and systematically turning all efforts that are supposed to be directed at assistance into efforts to undermine the situation," Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said during a press conference, according to the Russia Today website.
"Of course, it is getting closer to the possibility of a direct clash with our country, and this is fraught with unpredictable risks," Zakharova added.
"The consequences of this on security do not have repercussions on Europe alone, but rather on the entire world," she said.
In statements he made earlier, the French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed the possibility of sending Western forces to fight in Ukraine, noting that France does not adhere to red lines when the situation relates to its support for Ukraine.
