WASHINGTON June 10. 2024 (Saba) - Colombia late on Saturday said it would stop its exports of coal to the Zionist entity due to the continuing war in Gaza Strip.
According to the Ma'an news agency, a decree issued by the Colombian Ministry of Trade stated that the cessation of charcoal exports would apply until Israel fully respects the temporary measures ordered by the International Court of Justice as part of implementing the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide in Gaza Strip.
Last May, the Colombian President Gustavo Petro decided to sever diplomatic relations between his country and the Zionist enemy, dubbing the government of Benjamin Netanyahu as “committing genocide” against the Palestinians. He also stopped the purchase of Zionist-made weapons.
The Colombian government said the measure would be implemented five days after its publication in the Official Gazette, and would not include goods previously obtained permission to export.
Gustavo Petro was elected in 2022, the first left-wing president in the history of Colombia, and he repeatedly criticized the Zionist aggression against Gaza Strip.
