SANA'A May 22. 2024 (Saba) - The Parliament Speaker , Brother Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i, welcomed the decisions of Spain, Norway, and Ireland to recognize the State of Palestine.
Al-Ra'i, in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), considered these decisions a positive step on the right path to prove the right of the Palestinians to establish their independent state.
He pointed out that this step, although it came late, is the beginning of a sense of responsibility towards the oppression of the Palestinian people after more than 75 years of occupation, killing, destruction and forced displacement. It also expresses an awakening against the policy of imbalance in which the international community has lost many legal, humanitarian and moral considerations.
The Speaker pointed out that the recognition of the State of Palestine by Norway, Spain and Ireland came at a time when the Zionist enemy entity, since October 7, has been waging a war on Gaza that left more than 115,000 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women.
He called on the rest of the world to stand responsibly and fully recognize the Palestinian state, expressing thanks and appreciation to Spain, Norway, Ireland, and to all countries that recognized the Palestinian state.
The Parliament Speaker reaffirmed the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to establish their independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
