BAYDA May 10. 2024 (Saba) - The branch of the General Authority for Rural Water Projects in Al Bayda Governorate handed over today,Friday, Azzan Water Project in Al Arsh District to the Beneficiaries Committee of Local Council in the District to manage its operation.
Five thousand and 620 people will benefit from the project, which costs 43 million and 733 thousand riyals, funded by the Emergency Central Interventions Unit at the Ministry of Finance.
During the handover, the director of the authority’s branch in the province, Engineer Hassan Al-Kahali, stressed the importance of the water project to alleviate the suffering of the region in light of the current conditions that the country is going through as a result of the continued aggression and siege.
It explained that the team assigned by the Authority and the branch supervised the delivery of the project to the Beneficiary Committee to manage the operation of the project, after completing its implementation by Tays Import Foundation in accordance with engineering specifications and standards, which consisted of supplying, transporting, installing and operating a pumping unit powered by solar energy.
Al-Kahali stressed the keenness of the leadership of the Rural Water Projects Authority to implement solar-powered water projects to provide clean and pure drinking water for citizens, especially in rural areas.
He expressed the hope that donors will continue to support the water , sanitation sector and contribute to supporting efforts aimed at improving water , sanitation services, praising the support and support of the leadership of the Ministry of Water and Environment and the Rural Water Projects Authority, for the efforts of the authority’s branch in implementing projects in accordance with the authority’s strategic plan 1444-1447 AH.
