GAZA May 06. 2024 (Saba) - The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas on Monday officially informed the Qatari and Egyptian mediators of its approval of their proposals for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas said in a statement that "Ismail Haniyeh, head of the movement's political bureau, held a phone call with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, and with Egyptian Intelligence Minister Abbas Kamel, and informed them of the movement's approval of their proposal on the ceasefire agreement."

The Hamas delegation held talks in the Egyptian capital Cairo for two days on ending the war on Gaza and exchanging prisoners, and then returned to Qatar on Sunday for consultations with the movement's political leadership.
