SANA'A May 05. 2024 (Saba) - A social rehabilitation and life skills course was concluded today in Sanaa for a number of women at the Social Rehabilitation Center affiliated with the National Program to Address the Phenomenon of Begging.
The six-day course, organized by the National Program to Address the Phenomenon of Begging, aimed to qualify participants in the social, cultural, and psychological aspects, and to enhance cultural and religious awareness that preserves human dignity and extricates them from the culture of begging, in addition to life skills.
The director of the center, Suad Al-Qadiri, explained that the qualifying course is followed by a special training course in developing professional skills and then economic empowerment for the participants in accordance with the program’s directions.
She pointed out that the aim of the courses is to enhance human dignity, earn a lawful livelihood without begging anyone, and help develop skills in entrepreneurship and capital development in small projects and how to maintain them.
Al-Qadri expressed her hope that the participants would benefit from the courses and apply them, pointing out that the program contributes to developing the trainees’ abilities and motivating them to change their life reality.
