MOSCOW April 21, 2024 (Saba) - American media reported, citing a senior American official, that the Russian armed forces destroyed five out of 31 American-made M1 Abrams tanks in the Russian special military operation area during the past two months.
The Russian Sputnik news agency, citing American reports published yesterday, Saturday, reported that three other tanks sent by the United States to Ukraine had suffered moderate damage since the beginning of this year.
Last February, Ukrainian media reported that Ukrainian forces had been using the Abrams for more than a month in the direction of Avdiivka, from which they later withdrew.
On March 6, the commander of a Russian military unit told Sputnik that Russian forces destroyed an American-made Abrams tank for the first time in the direction of Avdiivka during a tank battle.
