DAMASCUS February 28. 2024 (Saba) - The US base in the Al-Omar oil field, in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria, was subjected to missile bombardment, while the international coalition responded at the base by bombing positions of the auxiliary forces of the Syrian army.
Field sources told Al-Mayadeen, on Wednesday, that the base of the Al-Omar oil field was targeted with a number of rockets, which led to material damage.
The sources pointed out that the international coalition's artillery at the Al-Omar field base bombarded a number of sites belonging to the auxiliary forces of the Syrian army, in the Al-Mayadeen desert, east of Deir Ezzor.
A field source told Sputnik that "five missiles targeted the US base in the Omar oil field and hit the southern side of it, and a suicide drone targeted the Green Village inside the base."
The source added: "The US warplanes launched four raids on the positions of the auxiliary forces of the Syrian army in the desert of Mayadeen in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, in response to the targeting of the US base in the Omar oil field."
This comes days after a suicide drone targeted the US base in the Coneco gas field in the countryside of Deir Ezzor in eastern Syria.
