MOSCOW January 17. 2024 (Saba) - Russian media reported that the Russian army began, in some operational areas, to comprehensively bombard Ukrainian army positions using special “Inferno” bomber drones.
The Russian "Novosti" news agency quoted a source in the Russian "Rostechedron" company that manufactures the drones as saying: "The Inferno drone is equipped with nine bomb-throwing components. During the implementation of the combat mission, the drone passes over Ukrainian trenches, where the gates are opened for bombing and it throws batches of bombs." Each batch contains three bombs.
The source added that the operation is similar to that achieved by large bombers during comprehensive bombardment, indicating that the enemy suffers heavy human losses as a result of the bombing, including dead and wounded. The drone can also bomb light armored vehicles.
It is noteworthy that the drone throws bombs towards the enemy from the movement, which increases the possibility of its survival.
It is noteworthy that "Inferno" belongs to FPV drones and carries four kilograms of combat payload, which can include ВОГ-17 and ГП-25 bombs and special ammunition. The range of the march reached five kilometers.
