OCCUPIED AL-QUDS December 05. 2023 (Saba) - After two months of Zionist aggression on Gaza, the UN on Tuesday warned of a direr scenario in the Strip the humanitarian operations may fail to deal with.
Since Hamas-Israel fighting resumed on 1 December, after 7-day truce, Zionist military operations expanded to south Gaza, the UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Palestine said in a statement.
Extended ground offensives forced tens of thousands of Palestinians to resort to areas under growing pressures, desperately seeking for food, water and safe refuge, Lane Hastings added, but "no safe place in Gaza."
Gaza sees refuge centers lacking resources, collapsed health system, lack of clean drinking water, lack of proper sanitation, malnutrition among people already tired mentally and physically, epidemics and general health catastrophe, the UN official said.
Gaza now lacks conditions needed to deliver aid to people, she added, as the let-in food and fuel supplies are absolutely insufficient.
"Humanitarian operations cannot be run with little supplies of fuel, the essence which social services and our operations depend on, including hospitals, desalination stations, drinking water and sanitation," Hastings warned.
Space for humanitarian response allowable for provision in Gaza is increasingly declining, she added.
