WASHINGTON November 18. 2023 (Saba) - American troops and structures in Iraq and Syria have been attacked 61 times since 7 October, al-Mayadeen quoted a US military official as saying late on Friday.
Earlier on Friday, the Pentagon said US forces positioned in Iraq and Syria experienced 55 attacks in one month, leaving tens of American soldiers injured.
The troops were under 27 attacks in Iraq and another 28 in Syria, the department added, as 59 Americans were wounded in the attacks.
The Iraq-based Islamic resistance on Friday claimed responsibility for targeting the US Hareer military base north Iraq with a UAV that directly hit target, Eyen al-Asad base west Iraq with two UAVs, and Tel Bider base west Hasaka City in Syria with two UAVs.
In a statement, the resistance reiterated support for Gaza Strip and the Palestinian resistance in Aqsa Storm, vowing to continue attacks in response to Zionist-American crimes against the Palestinians.
The US is involved in denying the Palestinians their rights and freedom, and in supporting the Zionist aggression, the statement read, as Palestine besieged "cities are denied access to water, food and medicine, buildings are damaged, mosques and hospitals are bombed, and women and children are killed."
