BAGHDAD November 08. 2023 (Saba) - The Iraqi Council of Ministers decided to donate ten million liters of fuel to hospitals in the Gaza Strip, in light of the continued aggression and Zionist siege.
The Council said in a statement on Tuesday evening the decision came in solidarity with the Gaza Strip and in order to alleviate the suffering of the brothers of the Palestinian people.
In an interview with al-Mayadeen, World Health Organization spokesman Christian Landmeier confirmed that there is a fuel shortage in the Gaza Strip, and stated that many children need electrically operated incubators.
In turn, Regional Director of the World Health Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean Ahmed Al-Mandhari said “The ongoing aggression against hospitals and the continued closure of the Rafah crossing are among the most prominent challenges that prevent us from implementing our health plans.”
For his part, spokesman for the United Nations Aid Office Jens Laerke said that the Zionist enemy always prevents the entry of fuel into Gaza, adding: “We do not have any positive news about whether it is possible for fuel to enter.”
