SANA'A October 03.2023 (Saba)-The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, met in Hodeidah with the European Union’s Rural Resilience Officer, Shohra Nagshbandi, and her accompanying delegation, who is currently visiting Yemen.

During the meeting, ways to enhance effective partnership were discussed to ensure the continuation of humanitarian work in order to achieve the common goals of the Council and organizations working in the relief and humanitarian field, and mechanisms for joint cooperation and coordination.

The Secretary-General of the Council stressed the keenness to provide all possible facilities to organizations working in the field of humanitarian work without prejudice to national laws.

He explained that the Council is making every effort to advance humanitarian work by providing the necessary facilities and working to implement projects in a way that contributes to alleviating the worst human suffering in the world that Yemen is experiencing as a result of the aggression and siege.

Al-Hamli praised the efforts made by the European Union in the humanitarian field in an attempt to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, stressing the importance of coordination with the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs in order to achieve the benefit of providing aid.

He pointed out the importance of continuing to implement sustainable service and development projects that would improve the humanitarian and economic conditions in Yemen.

In turn, the Rural Resilience Officer affirmed the European Union’s keenness to implement rural resilience projects in Yemen, appreciating the efforts of the Supreme Council in facilitating the work of the organizations.
