MOSCOW September 14. 2023 (Saba) - The Russian Ministry of Defense said on Thursday that its forces destroyed a number of Ukrainian drones in the Bryansk and Belgorod regions, located in western Russia on the border with Ukraine.
The ministry added in four successive statements published on the Telegram App that its forces shot down six drones flying over the Bryansk region.
Bryansk region governor Alexander Bogomaz said that the six drones were shot down over the areas of Onichsky, Brasovsky, Starodubsky, and Karachevsky, an area located very close to the city of Bryansk, stressing that no casualties or damage have been reported.
Earlier in the day, Russian Defense said that its forces shot down a Ukrainian drone lover Belgorod, the Russian border region with the Ukrainian Kharkiv region.
The governor of the region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that the drone was shot down while flying over the village of Tulyanka, which is tens of kilometers away from the Ukrainian border.
The pace of Ukrainian drone attacks targeting Russian territory has increased since Kiev began its counterattack last June.
These attacks are now targeting many Russian regions, including the capital, Moscow, as well as the Crimean Peninsula, which Russia annexed on 2 February.
