TEHRAN August 20. 2023 (Saba) - Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Iranian Parliament), Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, has affirmed that the Iranian people will never allow their country to become a backyard for arrogant powers.
Tasnim International News Agency quoted Qalibaf, at the beginning of the public session of the Islamic Shura Council, marking the anniversary of the coup against the Iranian national government in 1953 with the support of the American intelligence, as saying the anniversary of the shameful coup on August 19 is a reminder of the dark days in which the will of foreign politicians was overwhelmed and their security apparatus on the will of the people.
He added "Today it is the will of the Iranian people that thwarted the enemy's plots, and the country's armed forces, including the Revolutionary Guards and the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the support of the Iranian people, disappointed the hopes of Iran's enemies."
He continued saying the United States of America knows that the anti-American sentiments and actions all over the world are a direct result of the criminal behavior of that government against the oppressed and oppressed peoples of the world.
He stressed that the awakening of the peoples and the slogans of death for America are the result of years of looting, coup, inhumane punishments, war and cultural invasion by US governments around the world.
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament concluded by saying the Iranian people are vigilant and with the support of their trust in God Almighty and the strength of thought and action of their youth, they will never allow their country to become the backyard of arrogant powers in the world again.
