PYONGYANG Aug. 14. 2023 (Saba) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has visited key military factories, including a tactical missile production plant, calling for improved production capacity and mass production of weapons.
The official North Korean News Agency stated that Kim Jong Un encouraged the improvement of production capacity and mass production of weapons, stressing that the quality of war preparations depends on the development of the munitions industry.
It added that Kim expressed his satisfaction with the factory's recent focus on producing tactical missiles and increasing production capacity.
According to the agency, Kim praised the recent runs of the howitzers, KCNA, explaining that Kim made an important goal of greatly increasing the missile production capacity of the tactical missile production plant to meet the needs of the expanded and reinforced front-line units' organizational and operational plan and missile units.
It also reported that the North Korean leader personally drove a newly developed multi-purpose armored combat vehicle when he visited a factory producing armored combat vehicles.
The visit came just a week after Kim Jong-un conducted field guidance of major munitions factories as South Korea and the United States plan to hold the Ulchi Freedom Shield exercises later this month, which Pyongyang has denounced.
