PETERSBURG July 26. 2023 (SABA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin held discussions in Petersburg today, with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, on the eve of the planned "Russia-Africa" summit in Russia's cultural capital.
According to Russian agency TASS, Putin paid tribute at the beginning of the meeting to Russia-Ethiopia's deep-rooted and striking relations.
The meeting of Putin and Ahmed inaugurates a series of meetings of the Russian President with leaders of African countries who continue to arrive in Petersburg for the "Russia-Africa" summit, where separate meetings are expected to be held with each of the African guests separately.
Putin is scheduled today to hold talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and head of the new development bank of the group "BRICS" Dilma Rousseff.
