TEHRAN July 16. 2023 (Saba) - Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Iranian parliament, Mohammad Qalibaf, on Sunday rejected the joint statement of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Russia regarding the three Iranian islands, saying: We will not tolerate the territorial integrity of Iran with any party.
According to Tasnim International News Agency, Qalibaf rejected during the general session of the Islamic Consultative Council, the council for the joint statement of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and Russia regarding the three Iranian islands.
Qalibaf assured Iran's neighbors, including Russia, that maintaining stability and economic development in the region is possible only on the basis of observing the principles of good neighborliness, including respect for Iran's territorial integrity.
He pointed out that the territorial integrity of Iran was the price of the blood of hundreds of thousands of the purest and bravest Iranian youth, explaining that no bargaining would take place with any party in this regard.
He added that Russia should not fall victim to Western geopolitical expansion and NATO, which is fighting against it, and should not help the Western geopolitical program to destabilize the Gulf.
Qalibaf warned against the conspiracy of the media and people affiliated with the Western media alliance, pointing out that it is not acceptable in any way that those who have exerted all their efforts in the past four decades to harm Iran's interests and security suddenly become concerned about Iran's territorial integrity.
He stressed that everyone should be on alert in such cases and avoid falling into the media traps of this distortion stream.
