HODEIDA June 10. 2023 (Saba) - A meeting in Al Hodeida province today, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Taher Khater, discussed mechanisms for implementing the second phase of the loan project for fishermen in the province.
The meeting, which was attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Industries and Small and Micro Enterprises Fund, Ibrahim Shaiban, and the Undersecretaries of the Fisheries Ministry for the traditional fishing sectors, Abdul Hamid Ahmed Salah and investment, Maher Al-Sayed, touched on the requirements for implementing the project, ways to speed up and facilitate the procedures for registering them and granting them loans, and the account numbers granted by the fund.
The meeting emphasized the importance of supporting fishermen and providing loans to be used correctly and effectively to achieve the desired results to enhance efforts to preserve fish wealth and support the national economy, stressing the need to enhance transparency and accountability in granting loans, and to properly train loan officers according to the required stages as soon as possible.
They praised the tangible cooperation of the Small and Micro Industries and Enterprises Fund and the efforts made by fish cooperative societies in supporting fishermen and enabling them to achieve sustainable successes in multiple fishing operations.
