SANA'A May 29. 2023 (Saba) - During its presence in Yemen, the UAE statelet focused on the cities of the Yemeni coasts and islands, especially the Socotra archipelago, which it attached special importance to, pushed its mercenaries to, and appointed an Emirati ruler over it, similar to the British High Commissioner to Aden when it occupied it.
The UAE occupation state exerted all its capabilities to bring about environmental and demographic changes in the archipelago in order for it to settle there, and for this purpose it cooperated with the Zionist enemy and organized multiple trips for Zionist intelligence officers under the name of tourism.
With Zionist, American and British help, the UAE statelet changed the communication systems on the island and linked it to the Emirati communications system in a desperate attempt to impose its presence in the archipelago, the Yemeni island, which is the jewel of the islands in the world.
These and other matters come due to the geographical location the archipelago occupies, which acquires strategic geopolitical importance due to its dominance over the international commercial and military shipping lines in three of the most important seas in the world: the Indian Ocean, the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea, which aroused the ambitions of the invaders throughout the ages.
The observer of the UAE military presence in the Socotra archipelago notes that the UAE occupation statelet sought with all its might to separate the archipelago from the motherland of Yemen with a series of actions, including bringing in residents from outside the island to bring about demographic changes in it in a miserable attempt to remove the archipelago from Yemeni sovereignty, but it forgot Socotra is a Yemeni land, its roots are linked to the roots of the Yemeni civilization for thousands of years, while the state of the Emirates is no more than seventy years old.
Since the first day of its occupation of the Socotra archipelago, the UAE occupation state has stolen perennial trees, quantities of coral reefs, rare birds, and other unique components of the island.
What is certain is that the UAE does not have a clear-cut foreign policy, which made it play a role in the region that exceeds its geopolitical size, starting from Yemen, passing through Egypt and Sudan, and ending with Libya.
The UAE occupation state is well aware that it will not settle in the Socotra archipelago, and its presence there is a temporary issue that came as a result of the exceptional circumstance that the Republic of Yemen is going through, and it is a circumstance that will inevitably be overcome, and things will return to normal, and the memory of the UAE military presence in the Socotra archipelago and others will become a painful memory Yemeni generations inherited it, generation after generation.
