TEHRAN May 11. 2023 (Saba) - The Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Baqheri, praised the smart policies of Oman in Yemen. Efforts must continue to achieve a just peace in Yemen and preserve Yemen's territorial integrity.
According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (ERNA), this came during the meeting of General Bagheri, who is visiting the Sultanate of Oman at the head of a high-level military delegation, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq bin Timur Al Said last night, and held a round of talks with him.
Baqheri said that joint actions between Iran and the Sultanate of Oman could contribute to enhancing security in the region without the need for foreigners' presence.
General Baqheri expressed satisfaction at the beginning of the meeting with his visit to the sisterly and friendly Sultanate of Oman. Considering the relations between the two countries to be stable and positive, he said: "The leader of the Islamic Revolution believes that Oman is a good neighbour to Iran.
In his analysis of the current situation in the world, which was about to enter a new system, he added: the future of the world showed a multipolar system; A system in which the world's power moves from the West to Asia, these developments have affected our region, and we certainly need to strengthen military relations and establish security in the Strait of Hormuz, the Oman Sea and the northwest Indian Ocean.
Iran's principled policies were to ensure security in the region by its States. Iran's joint actions and the Sultanate of Oman could create better security and demonstrate that there was no need for foreigners to be present in the region.
In turn, the Sultan of Oman stressed the need to develop military cooperation and defence industry between the two countries. He said: The level of cooperation in various defense and military fields between the armed forces of the two countries must be raised.
He made it clear that the Omani naval force is participating in the international maneuvers in Iran, stressing that the security of the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman can be guaranteed by the countries of the region.
