LISBON March 28. 2023 (Saba) - Portuguese police announced on Tuesday that two people were killed in an attack carried out against an Islamic center in Lisbon capital.
The French Press Agency quoted the Portuguese police as saying that two people were killed and several others wounded in a knife attack on an Islamic center, stressing that a suspect has been arrested.
In turn, Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa announced that the police shot a man suspected of stabbing two people in a Muslim center in Lisbon, describing the incident as a "criminal act."
Costa said that the suspect is in hospital, indicating that preliminary information indicates that "this is an isolated incident. The police are investigating the attack and it is too early to speculate on the motive."
