HAJJAH, Aug. 21 (Saba) - Seven citizens killed and 8 others were injured as a result of thunderbolts in Hajjah province.
The head of the Emergency and Disasters Committee in the province, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Malhani, told Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that thunderbolts, on Saturday evening, led to killing of 5 citizens and the injury of 5 others in Qufl Shamr district.
He pointed out that a citizen was killed and 2 others were injured as a result of lightning strikes in Mabian district, while a citizen killed in Ku'aydinah district and another was injured in al-Shahel district.
Dr. Al-Malhani called on citizens to abide by the instructions related to taking shelter from thunderbolts, turning off electrical appliances and mobile phones in order to preserve their lives.
