SPC reviews results of meeting of national delegation with UN envoy
[01/June/2022]

SANA'A, June 01 (Saba) – The Supreme Political Council (SPC) in its meeting on Wednesday chaired by President Mahdi Al-Mashat reviewed the results of the meeting of the national delegation and the military committee with the UN envoy in Oman on alleviating the human suffering of the Yemeni people.

The Council also discussed the overall challenges that faced the two-month armistice due to the violations and obstacles, blaming the aggression coalition and its mercenaries for the stumble witnessed by the file of reopening roads in Taiz and the rest of the Yemeni provinces.

In the meeting, the Council also reviewed the assessment submitted on the level of implementation of the provisions of the armistice.

The Council stressed that the decision to extend the armistice for a new period is subject to addressing the foregoing through the implementation of all obligations of the past period and compensation for them, whether with regard to flights or ships of oil derivatives, as well as the commitment to discuss humanitarian issues, foremost of which is the issue of salaries, basic services and monetary policy.

The Council affirmed that "the Republic of Yemen was not an aggressor against anyone, and that Sana'a has always presented peace initiatives and supports all calls for peace."

It referred to the responsibility of the aggression coalition and its mercenaries for the looting of the wealth of the Republic of Yemen, the latest of which was the arrival of a giant oil tanker to the port of Shihr in Hadramout province for the second time in two months to loot more than two million barrels of oil crude.

The Council emphasized on President Al-Mashat’s call in his recent speech to the United Nations to pressure the aggression countries and their mercenaries to pay the salaries of employees from the revenues of the Hodeida port and the oil and gas revenues looted by the aggression coalition and its mercenaries.
