Politicians, Academics: Massacre Of Pilgrims In Tanomah is Genocide Crime "Shall Not Be Subject To Any Statute Of Limitations"
[11/July/2020]

SANAA, July 11 (Saba) - The great massacre against the Yemeni pilgrims in Tanomah and Sadwan areas in the land held by the Saudi enemy committed by al-Saud gangs in 1341/1923  is a crime of genocide shall not be barred by lapse of time under international law, politicians and academics have affirmed.

They pointed out in statements to Saba that the Saudi aggression against Yemen is an extension of the Tanomah massacre, which killed more than 3,000 Yemeni pilgrims.

The politicians and academics stressed the need to memorize this crime in the memory of generations through creating a memorial for its martyrs and working to include it in the school curricula and research vocabulary as well as adopting a day to remember the martyrs and reviewing studies that dealt with Yemeni-Saudi relations to redefine the false ones and divulge the crimes of the Wahhabis and al-Saud's sons against the Yemeni people and the nation in general.

Prosecution:

They called for practical steps to be taken to prosecute al-Saud regime before international courts for the massacre of Tanomah and the crimes it committed over nearly six years against Yemen and its people.

Shura Council member Musleh Abu Sha'ar says that the Tanomah massacre came back after 100 years in another face through Saudi-led criminal aggression against Yemen, indicating that the Yemeni people are now fully aware of their long-standing enemy.

They pointed out that the wound of Tanomah is renewed today by the Saudi-led aggression coalition's crimes and its bloodshed against the Yemeni people that makes the people of Yemen in front of a major responsibility to continue confronting the haughty coalition.

British Engineering And Saudi implementation:

Deputy Information Minister Fahmi al-Yousfi noted that the 100th centenary of the Tanomah massacre coincided with British influence at the regional level that planned to commit and participate in this crime to pass colonial goals.

He pointed to the premeditation of the western and Arab imperialist powers to erase of Tanomah massacre out of the scope of the historic records, adding " The memory of Tanomah massacre coincides with the return of the forces carrying out the crime in the past to extend their influence in the present with various mechanisms, led by the Quartet countries represented by the United States, Britain, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE to find fingerprints of those forces present in the aggression against Yemen for more than five years now and on.''

Al-Yousfi explained that just as the old colonialism played a role in dividing the region in the light of the Sykes-Picot Agreement, it again returns to divide the divided countries in the light of a New Middle East Map, adding "The old colonialism also played a role in establishing political currents in the past, including Wahhabism and Zionist regimes in the region, including the Saudi, UAE, and other regimes, and NATO's influence remained in these systems manufactured by the West and through western-style agendas and organizations that are run by remote control from western kitchens.''

He stressed that achieving the West's goals in controlling the Arab and Islamic region and plundering its wealth requires chaos, targeting the axis of resistance and supporting the printed agendas with Israel / or normalization with the Zionist entity, pointing out the strengthening community awareness and continuing to confront the Saudi-led aggression to stop the West's ambitions in the region in general and in Yemen in particular.

Crime's Motives:

Shura Council member Dr. Abdulrahman al-Mukhtar pointed to Abdulaziz al-Saud's attempts to blot out the effects of the Tanomah massacre, this was a confirmation of his standing behind the planning and supervising of the massacre.

He stated that this crime does not include within the crimes of thieves and bandits, which are aimed at stealing and looting money, because it exceeds the capabilities, and objectives of the thinking of gangs, adding "The motives of this crime were not to rob the pilgrims' money, and if it were, it would have been enough to loot money and injure or kill some of the resisting pilgrims, but these gangs have broad lines that move and carry out their crimes under the direct of Abdulaziz al-Saud."

Al-Mukhtar considered that the Tanomah massacre is genocide crime which was carefully planned and executed, it is not an ordinary crime planned and committed by ordinary criminals who have been accused of cutting off the road, robbing, and killing travelers.

He pointed out that this massacre was only a prelude to a Saudi war against Yemen, through which the Saudi regime wanted to convey a message to the Yemeni people saying that the fate that confronted the pilgrims would be the fate of everyone who resists or opposes Abdulaziz al-Saud when he decides to invade Yemeni territories.

Crime "Shall Not Be Subject To Any Statute Of Limitations"

For his part, the military affairs researcher Brig. Gen. Abed al-Thawr affirmed that the Massacre of Tanomah is a crime against humanity that shall not be subject to any statute of limitations.

For the first time in the modern history of Yemen, the file was opened as a major crime committed against Yemeni pilgrims," he said.

The Brigadier al-Thawr called on the legal authorities to open a file before international courts and legal authorities around the world to hold the Saudi regime accountable for its crimes against the Yemeni people, in the past and in the present.

Absent Massacre

Dr. Fouad al-Shami, a professor of Modern and Contemporary History of Yemen at Sana'a University said the Tanomah massacre was lost in Yemeni and Arab references and sources, including the memory of Yemenis, except for the memory of the families of the victims who still keeping and have painful memories of the crime that has been inflicted on them.

Al-Shami pointed out that the Saudi regime was keen to hide this massacre and not provoke it using all means and methods, including containing many Arab and foreign historians, researchers and writers, paying financial sums and giving them gifts and privileges in order to silence them from dealing with this crime and to practice a policy of intimidation against them.

Dr. Al-Shami stressed that Saudi policy has played a key role in the absence of the heinous great massacre against the Yemeni pilgrims at all levels, requiring researchers, historians, and writers to uncover the missing facts and restore the Yemeni memory to reach the truth of what happened in Tanomah.

For his part, the vice-chairman of the Yemeni Center for Political and Strategic Studies Abdulaziz Abu Talib pointed out the importance of remembering the Tanomah massacre, which was intended to be erased from the memory of the Yemenis, indicating that the school curricula and Yemeni history did not mention or disclose this forgotten crime.

"The Saudi regime and its successors Britain and America grew up committing crimes and bloodshed and wanted to polish its image, but employing intimidation and payment of money to writers by dealing with what is in their interest and not dealing with this crime, including Yemeni writers, except for a few of them who have brought the national interest over their self-interest," he said.

Abu Talib highlighted the political motives of the Tanomah massacre, and the British hands that wanted to put pressure on the Mutawakkilite Kingdom of Yemen responding to British policy and bowing to its occupation of southern Yemen at that time by fabricating such crimes.

Abu Taleb linked the Massacre of Tanomah and the aggression against Yemen, considering the aggression against Yemen as an extension of the Saudi regime's crimes against Yemen 100 years ago in the Massacre of Tanomah and the subsequent crimes so far by targeting children, women and the elderly and destroying Yemen's capabilities.

Formation Of A Legal Body:

The Deputy Dean of the Diplomatic Institute for Academic Affairs, ambassador Najib Al-Zaeem, called for the formation of a legal body to collect evidence and testimonies and prepare a file related to the massacre documents and present them to the international courts as it is a crime of genocide that does not cease by the statute of limitations.

He stressed the importance of this crime to have Great momentum in national channels or social media sites to reveal the crimes committed by al-Saud regime against the Yemeni people, formerly and later, and to enrich them with research and studies and included it in educational curricula in general.
