div style="text-align: left;">SANA'A, March 08 (Saba) – UNICEF said that a large segment of Yemeni children are on the brink of famine due to malnutrition that increases the risk of infections dramatically in the light of more than half of medical facilities stopped.
Meritxell Relaño, the UNICEF Resident Representative, said in a press conference held at the UNICEF's headquarter on Wednesday that many children in the past two years were died because of preventable diseases.
She added that the number of the dead children who passed away are exceeding due to the arm conflict.
She said that children must be taken vaccinations through vaccination campaigns across Yemen so as to save children's life.
UNICEF and its partners managed to reach around 5 million under the age five and vaccinated them against polio.
UNICEF called on stopping military clashes as soon as possible so as to avert huge disasters that threatening children's life.
Meritxell Relaño said that the UNICEF exerted more efforts to reach Mocha city in spite of the difficult situations whether via Hodeida province road or Aden province road.
