Iran: "We Protest IAEA's performance but remain committed to nuclear obligations
[Thu, 07 Aug 2025 17:24:23 +0300]

Tehran – Saba:
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, expressed his country's strong protest against the performance of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Thursday, while stressing that Iran remains committed to its obligations under international agreements regarding its nuclear program.

During an interview with Iranian state radio, Bagheri clarified that the upcoming visit of an IAEA delegation to Tehran "is not aimed at conducting inspections," but rather comes within the framework of "discussions to formulate a new working mechanism that suits the current unprecedented circumstances."

Regarding the possibility of direct talks with the United States, Baghaei denied that any date or location had been set for such discussions, affirming that the reports circulating on this matter in recent weeks were "baseless and have been repeatedly denied."

He added that messages between Tehran and Washington are exchanged through known diplomatic channels, namely the Swiss Embassy in Tehran and the Pakistani Embassy in Washington, which handle interests sections. He noted that relying on intermediaries to convey messages is "a normal practice in diplomatic relations."
