Gaza – Saba:
Ismail Al-Thawabta, Director General of the Government Media Office in Gaza, stated on Wednesday that Israel is deliberately dismantling Gaza’s internal social organization and civic infrastructure through targeted attacks on humanitarian operations. He described the strategy as an engineered system of chaos and starvation designed to paralyze relief work and destabilize Palestinian society.
In remarks to the Palestinian Safa News Agency, Thawabta said Israeli forces are intentionally targeting aid security teams, creating fear and disarray among civilians, and undermining any community-driven aid efforts. He called these attacks “complete war crimes under international humanitarian law.”
He accused Israel of deploying agents and organized gangs to loot aid and assault civilians under the guise of so-called “safe corridors,” describing these corridors as traps for orchestrated lawlessness that operate with direct Israeli oversight.
“These corridors lack any real international oversight or security guarantees. They’re deliberately chaotic, exposing both aid workers and civilians to direct attacks,” Thawabta warned.
He said Israel is channeling aid through “red zones” controlled by groups tied to its intelligence services, an effort aimed at manipulating public perception, eroding trust in local governance, and vilifying Palestinian relief actors.
“This is a deliberate policy of starvation and chaos. Israel is using humanitarian aid as a political weapon, camouflaging its genocide with propaganda about aid deliveries,” he added.
Thawabta revealed that Gaza requires no fewer than 600 aid and fuel trucks per day to meet minimal basic needs, given the near-total collapse of infrastructure and rapidly worsening humanitarian conditions.
He confirmed that 193 Palestinians—including 96 children—have died from hunger, with daily increases in mortality and malnutrition, especially among infants. More than 40,000 children under one year old are at risk of death, he warned, as thousands more suffer from severe wasting, food shortages, and lack of infant formula and supplements.
Thawabta described the current situation as a “gradual genocide” that is expanding by the day, asserting that Israel is reshaping the humanitarian narrative to suit its strategic interests—blaming victims for the crisis it created.
“What’s being promoted as humanitarian access is nothing but a media smokescreen concealing a calculated starvation campaign,” he concluded.
