Yemen’s Shura Council strongly condemned the recent Israeli attack on Hodeidah Port and its civilian infrastructure, calling it a blatant violation of international and humanitarian law as well as Yemen’s sovereignty.
In a statement issued Monday, the Council described the aggression as “a desperate and bankrupt move” by the Israeli entity, which it said has failed to break the will of the Yemeni people or deter their principled and religious stance in support of Palestinians facing genocide and starvation in Gaza.
The Council stressed that continued Israeli aggression will only strengthen Yemen’s resolve to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, who are being slaughtered daily amid a disgraceful silence from the international, Arab, and Islamic communities—silence that has emboldened Israel to intensify its crimes.
The Council also praised the Yemeni Armed Forces for their qualitative military operations targeting Israeli positions, describing them as a direct and appropriate response that underscores Yemen’s military readiness and commitment to defending national sovereignty and public assets.
It renewed its call to the Association of Senates, Shura and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World, as well as to the international community and global advocates of justice, to condemn the Israeli assault on Yemen and to take urgent action to stop Israel’s starvation tactics and crimes against civilians in Gaza.
