Cairo - Saba:
Egyptian media reports revealed that Al-Ahly club officials have made a new decision regarding the future of Palestinian striker Wissam Abu Ali, following the strong offers he received during the current summer transfer window.
Media professional Muhib Abdul Hadi commented on his official Facebook account regarding Wissam Abu Ali's future: "A big surprise during Captain Mohamed Ramadan's time at Al-Ahly. Wissam Abu Ali's contract has been extended for two additional seasons."
Wissam Abu Ali's name has been linked to numerous foreign offers, most notably from Qatari club Al-Rayyan, American club Columbus, and other Gulf clubs. However, Al-Ahly's financial demands have stalled negotiations between these clubs to sign the Red Devils' star.
Al-Ahly had stipulated $10 million for the player's sale, a sum the clubs did not agree to, and negotiations have stalled, paving the way for his continued presence with Al-Ahly.
Wissam Abu Ali will arrive in Cairo today, Sunday, to join the team's pre-season preparations for the new season after agreeing with the club's management to close the file on his departure for the time being.
Al-Ahly will begin preparations for the new season on Monday. The team will train at home for four days before traveling to Tunisia for a training camp from July 18 to 29.
The Palestinian star is tied to an extended contract with Al-Ahly for another three years, until the summer of 2028.
Abu Ali has participated in 60 matches with the Red Devils, scoring 38 goals and assisting ten others, bringing his total goal contributions to 48.
